7/15/89 Deer Creek - just UNBELIVEABLE second set. i always listen to the "shows on this day in history" @ the archive. Ive started making tapes again since my stereo is hooked up to the comp, plus i really really like tapes anyway.

Really been digging the CodeTalkers and some recent ARU lately. Always checking out anything to do with Col. Bruce Hampton. A great boot of a free Jean-Luc Ponty show from 2 weeks ago in Pittsburgh that I missed.

I'll be listening to all-things ALLGOOD just as soon as my taper buddy hooks me up. Lots of great music was happening there. Moe, who I've only seen a couple times, really impressed me this time. Their jams were remniscent of Phish in their heyday.Les Claypool's set was excellent as usual and Sam Bush completely blew me away.

Caught Drive-by Truckers for the first time---they were ok---kind of southern drinking swing music.
Soulive was very good as was Leftover Salmon who closed the weekend. Ratbob was good but nothing surprising. Caught this very weird production of sorts with synch'd up video of a reefer-madness type film. They were called Kicksville. Rather hard to describe, but if you like prog-rock/jam/syth/theatrical music they'd be worth seeing.
