I like it too good little folk music scene. I visit there every couple of months and then go to the shannadoah (sp?) national park to hike/camp.
I agree with you that it would be better if he would just release his music and not be depedent on selling records that have jerry on it as well. (i didn't think he had released that many after his death anyway) However it is his creative property as much as jerry's. I don't know for a fact but I would guess he has some form of agreement with the jerry garcia estate to release the shows that he does. If he has an agreement then I have absolutly no problem with it. In fact I like to get all the garcia/grishman music that I can. I still don't feel like grisham is totaly riding on jerry's coat tails. There are a lot of other people that have done that to a larger degree. (GD merch, His estate, Seals, Blair jackson, ect.) I've seen the DG quartet 3 or 4 times now and he never mentioned jerry's name. Seems to be doing his own thing to me. 3 or 4 of the garcia/grisham albums released were released while jerry was alive. (someone correct me if that is wrong) So it's not like jerry didn't want this music heard.
