Hardest - Hands down, Help On The Way - So many notes, so hard to keep it clean.

Most Fun - That's tough, there are many. Probably Sugaree and Scarlet. Personally I seem to be most creative in these leads. I'm also partial to the more Blues oriented stuff.

Crazy fingers is a great challenging number. Playing it all barre-chords and different fret positioning is a blast. But remembering it to play live, that's the hard part.

crazy fingers can be kinda hard to remember, and i didnt have any trouble with the lead on slipknot!, it took me a bit to figure out the exact rhythm that bobby plays, but what ive had a hard time with is Let it grow. I know my harmonic minor scales but the runs that jerry does in that song baffle me. I can do all of Weather Report Suite part 1 even the slide part, but then when i get to let it grow, sometimes i forget a chord or two, and the lead is usually alright, but i wish i could have tapped into jerrys brain and figured out how he went about his runs in that song.

Lazy lightning was kinda tough to learn, wierd rhythm

terrapin is hard for some, but its one of my favs, the awkward changes came kinda easy for me.

some songs that i really dont understand are cryptical envelopement(the other one) and dark star,i mean, i get the rhythms cuz theyre kinda simple, but the jams, whoa man, i just gotta give my props and leave it to them!

I've only been playing for about 4 years now, and the hardest song for me to play right now is Help>Slip...just soooo many notes and patterns to remember. I certainly can't do it without looking at it, and even then I have a hard time.

Is it cheating to use sheet music on stage? I've only really played out live5 times or so, and I do have my music stand with me on stage (as do the others in the band). With so much to remember, I'd rather put on a good performance than forget chords, words, etc.

I recently learned Terrapin and am doing the lead for that & am having a blast with it.

Hey Bill - what scale do you use for Sugaree. It's actually one of my least favs but maybe if I try something else I'll find something I like about it.

By the way, this forum kicks ass - I've been coming to rukind for 4 years for tablature, but for some reason just stumbled onto this forum through my brother Jer (saint421). Thanks to all who make it what it is, I'm learning a ton from all of you.

Can anyone "help" (yes pun, although lame, is intended) me figure out a good scale to use for the jam during Help, before they sing the last verse?

I've never played the solo part, I usually just jam through it, but I am itching to figure out what to do here...

till the morning comes is definatley a fun one, but i think they only played it like 5 times live and never after 1970. if youve never heard it live its on the golden road box set
I like playing eyes and chinacat, and sugaree and also scarlet-fire, a hard one for me to play is bertha, and also another is definaltey help-slip.

the most difficult stuff i play has to be my own leads. some hard songs tho are:

meat by moe.
brent black by moe.
lonesome fiddle blues (this version is by SCI)

none of these are too difficult, like i said before the most technically advanced stuff i play are my leads.

I'd kinda have to agree with the Eyes solo being pretty tough. It certainly was for me - I've got it down pretty good now - but going from the Emaj7 to Bm and then A - wow. Changing modes so quickly during different chords really threw my poor battered brain into a tizzy for a long time - a lot of practicing to get used to that...
