Yeah I have a Creative Lab Zen xtra 30 gig, and the only problem I have with it is that I beet the shit out of it.

Never had a problem with the software, I accidentally romoved all my music on it and just synct it back up.

But I do like MAC and love there software just as much so, I'm a hybrid kinda guy.

Grateful, try riding NYC subways every day of your life without an i pod. Have you seen those people's faces? I lived there for a long time and I can tell you THOSE without them are the zombies. I Pods are a necessity for enjoyable subway riding. Nothing wrong with a personal soundtrack to your day IMO.

the thing about that is what they're listening to... of course an avril lavine fan is going to have a blank expression, that being said i've never seen a deadhead with an ipod but i'm guessing they look a little more lively than someone listening to "girlfriend"

Itunes works good with Macs (Software is included in new Macs). With all the different makes of PCs out there, there's bound to be some compatability issues. It can convert WAVE and AIFF files to MPEG...

I like to be a little different, I don't have a cell phone and 've got a Creative Zen mp3 player and I rent music from Napster... since I usually don't buy CDs anymore, I've heard more different music this year alone than in the past ten years! I won't go running without music so napster's been a freakin' blessing. And not a single problem with it in 7 months now!

Some people I know love IPods, others don't but they like their mp3 players. Me, I don't have and mp3 player and to be honest I don't particularly want one. And I don't want a Mac or ITunes for that matter, PC and winamp serves me too well for me to change to anything else.

This whole frenzy surrounding Apple is getting a bit annoying, everything they make is being marketed and perfect and unbreakable, oh and lets not forget that its aimed at "creative, young and hip" people because everyone who doesn't own a Mac or IPod or ITunes is clearly an boring old fart with no talents who cleans toilets for a living and is saving up his pitiful wages to one day be able to afford a new ornament for his ran-down car he bought from his disabled neighbour.

Yup, those who don't use Apple branded products ARE like that..........

Me, I don't have and mp3 player and to be honest I don't particularly want one.

I never imagined owning one. I run a lot and I HATE running so music helps a LOT and with an mp3 player so small, it's perfect.

Also, I'm planning on hiking the Appalachian Trail for charity, 6 months from Day 1 to the Finish Line and with an mp3 player, I can listen to the Dead everyday. Without an mp3 player it would be possible with a Discman or Walkman but the extra weight would be ludicrous.

Driving across country -- no need to pick and choose which CDs you wanna bring, just load up the mp3 player with shows to your heart's delight.

Traveling overseas -- would you carry a whole book of discs to be able to choose from any of 50 or 100 shows? Just load 'em onto your mp3 player!

One material possession I wouldn't wanna part with -- my mp3 player! (so long as it's filled with shows!!!)

An ipod is a device that is used to make many people millions upon millions of dollars. The company advertises this device as something you need to have or else you're a loser. So be a sheep and go buy one already. Better yet, buy their iphone and join the world of selfish consumerism helping to tear apart the fabric of America while leaving billions of suffering people out to die.

i saw an interesting thing today. i saw three cars in the course of 15 minutes with an apple bumper sticker... thats not a lie or an exageration, some three people apparently bought into the apple corporation SO MUCH that they need to let everyone know they love this multimillion dollar company by putting a bumper sticker of it on their car, i dont get it, why would someone feel love for a corporation. oh well steve jobs and pals are out cause they ripped off the entire country on a phone that YOU TOUCH TO USE

every1 i knows goes for ipods and i tunes. i had a shuffle for 2 years, it went throuh hell, i dropped it into 3 pools, on hot tub, slamed it in a door, hurled across a street, stepped on, kicked. and it still works to this day. but its not worth it, it gave me so many problems, and so many of my riends problem that i just got a new vison m creative zen. more memory, easy to use, just hook it up to comp and u can put the songs in as files, u dont even need to use an specific media player. and i can hook it up to friends comps and copy my music off it and copy some of their songs on with no trouble. much much better then ipod
