nope, and I have low expectations (but maybe that will work to my benefit)

the main reason I pre-ordered it was to get the dicks picks booklet lol

I didn't know it had been released yet. I thought it was still in the pre order stages. Although I haven't heard it yet, I have heard the show before. On a really good recording (probably a betty board) so I'm not too sure why they released this show when it's already a well circulated show. From what I remember, great pigpen on this show. Big boss man, killer easy wind, smokestack. Also the very best electric dark hallow I've ever heard. (you know the show isn't mind blowing when I remember how great the dark hallow was) You can probably still check out the soundboard and stream it from the archive. A sample before you buy.

Oddly enough, I ordered it on Amazon and they told me there were going to be several weeks of delay but the next day I found it in one of the larger record stores and bought it right away. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're like me and like 1971 Dead, you will have a ball. Lots of my personal favorites in it. This is a highly energetic performance with Pigpen in great shape, about the fastest version of Bertha I've heard so far, Loser also faster than usual, a beautiful China/Rider and what are said to be the world premieres of Deal and Bird Song and much more. The only weak spot for me is Wharf Rat where Jerry's guitar seems to be somewhat out of tune.

I had the Port Chester run some time back and it's good stuff. 3FV is a good representation of what I had.

i have and it is hot! very likely the best 1st set i have ever heard the dead play. Pig Pen at his finest. This is the most pleasantly suprised i was by any of the vault, dick's picks releases to date. That run at the capital theatre featured the first ever birdsong, deal, wharfrat, greatest story, playin in the bands they ever played. i think the birdsong and deal on that show were the first ever. to me it is the bridge connecting the 1st generation dead to the 2nd generation. i have to get copies of all six shows they played there that week.

Can I ask what EXACTLY is this new 'three from the vault'?
I read the posts and searched the internet but I still don't have the answer.
Thanks.

It has what is, in my opinion, the definitive "Easy Wind"

 #22455  by Viceroy

also the definitive "You Win Again", as well the the finest "Smokestack Lightning" i've ever heard (16 minutes long). This show's band's energy is as good as any i've heard.

correction, my bad, definitive "It hurts me too", not "You win again" like i stated in previous post.
