When it doesn't fit anywhere else

first on my old account the itunes files imploded when i tried to add a new cd they just became "corrupted" and everytime i clicked itunes it wrecked my computer. so i made a new account and used a program "iLink pod" to get songs off my ipod onto the computer. this process took 6 hours because i had to double click all 2,900 songs on my ipod. long story short i wipe the ipods memory and plug it in and theres giant holes in some songs memory, memory i dont know how to restore, so i cant listen to my ipod or my itunes it says something about "the disc failing to be read" anyone had similiar problems or know how to fix this.

ps..... to steve jobs, thanks asshole for making me buy 4 of these things and have everyone get bugs and have to be replaced

Well, I don't think it's an inherent problem with iTunes or iPod - my kids and I have several computers and iPods (for a few years now) and have had little to no problems whatsoever. Not that iPod problems don't occur - they certainly can... But you haven't been very clear about what exactly happened. I understand that you are frustrated and maybe just venting a bit - but... you describe 2 distinctly separate problems - one with the computer - where iTunes "imploded" upon trying to rip a CD, and another with trying to re-sync your iPod.

If you still need help - please describe things that are happening a bit more specifically. Type of computer, iPod, connection...

Best of luck

on top of what myoung said this is also something maybe more suited to Itunes forums or the forums for your pc. Or any pc/mac site out there.

my itunes has been screwing up also. I just bought a bunch of dicks picks and itunes puts them in weird orders or remixes the song order. Also once i did finally get them on my ipod, it created a different grateful dead artist name, for every album.

Erictw83, I just bought my ipod. It's cool! And yes, was using a walkman or discman before that.

IMO, iTunes software sucks.

I don't buy from them and don't use them to store my music.

My music comes from elsewhere and I update my tags to be accurate.

I drag and drop every album and don't use it to store my music.

The iPOD is cool but the software and services suck so far.

I just use a generic MP3 player and keep everything on the computer, with backups. When I recently lost a cheap MP3 player it was no big deal.

And I stay away from commercial music services...

I own a Zen Touch, in my opinion they're much better than ipods if you don't mind the bulkyness. the software isn't too much of a hassle either and I haven't had any problems with it screwing with my files.

Since I am on the Linux, I can't use iTunes. I feel far safer for that. My iPod syncs just as well as it would with Apple's software, but I don't run the risk of, say, having all my Dead albums being marked as by different artists.

MP3s are OK for travel (I wish my iPod could play Ogg), but quality is important for a Dead album. I would never buy songs ripped at 128k.

I use a generic mp3 player that is simple to use and can store more music then I'll ever need. My kids have have ipods that cost $200 more then my unit and the itunes software is a pain in my assholes.

Maybe I am in the minority but I have never had a problem with either the hardware or software for I tunes. I run all Macs so maybe that is why.

nah im with Crazy fingers on this one. Ive used Itunes for the past 2 years and verrry minor problems. Umm as for the file naming different Artists. Thats because YOU didnt edit them. Sometimes it will auto-name as Grateful Dead other times it will be THE Grateful Dead. So if you just select all the songs and mass-edit Grateful Dead as the artist itll be fine.

I will NEVER buy a iPod. People look like zombies walking around. Their brains get sucked out through the earphones!
