Is it me or all the 79 shows great jams! It seems like all the shows have really cool set lists and Brent is SMOKIN the keys!

HRYK...

11/6, 11/5, 11/9, 12/1, and 12/11 are among my faves of the year.

I'd say even a couple of Keith's final shows in Jan & Feb make it as highlights of the year, most notably the epic Playin' from 1/15/79.

But imho, (and as I've prattled on over and over) the high-water mark of the "Early Brent" era was achieved in 1981.

The Dead Hour just aired a smokin' show from '81 I can't remember the date off hand though. 5-19 maybe?

YES! It most effectively demonstrates what renewed energy a band can experience with the subtraction of the wrong musicians and the addition of the right ones.

I'll second that. It's like the band had awoke from a long lie-in, had a good breakfast and were ready to rock again.
