Gigagain GP01 Superkick is a transparent clean boost guitar pedal featuring a prominent 18-segment LED level meter that visually tracks your signal intensity in real time—even when the pedal is bypassed. This is replacing my BBE Boosta Grande ive been using for 25+ years. This thing does a great job at getting that clean Jerry lead solo tone. Plus i love the LED's show where your level is as you turn the knob on the pedal.

These are not for sale in the US yet, they will be in Sept or Oct. I got one of Alibaba for $92 shipped including all fees. They will be $149 when released in the US. So i got a good deal. The pedal is very well built, its built like a tank. Nothing cheap bout the build of this pedal.

When they get released in the US, def try one as this is the boost pedal ive been looking for my whole life. I love my BBE, but it was time for something new and this pedal def hits all the right notes

Looks nice. Myself, though, I have enough clean boost pedals already to last my lifetime.

My fave two are my SMS Doozy Boost and XTS Pegasus Boost. The former many if not most of us here are already familiar with. The latter's an Alembic Stratoblaster in a pedal.

I hear you. But combined with this pedal (I own two!), I find that most clean boosts can emulate any other (or, with its master volume ["Level"], you can employ the pedal alone as a highly versatile and practical booster).

I had one of those Boss EQ's but i kept damaging them touring. All it took was a lil water to get into a slider and all hell would break loose haha. I use to play a lot of outdoor festivals with lack of good cover for stage hahaha. But maybe one day ill get another one of these Boss EQ's. I see a lot of people use them for exactly what we be talking about here.

But with the pedal i just got, usually by day 2-3 i find something i dont like about a pedal. But i usually find a way around said issue. So far this pedal does everything i want it to do. Just like my BBE. If you want to mess around with boost, check out the BBE's used. They can be found for cheap and let me tell you, the original one i have is over 25+ years old and i have NEVER had an issue with it. Very reliable.

I hear you!

A friend, about a decade ago (so my memory is admittedly old at this point), lent me his Boosta Grande. I recall very much liking it.

I know what you mean about its frequency response. The BBE not a simple boost. It might be better called an exciter. That outcome is not for everyone but, like licorice, if it's for you, it's great.

This being said, to my ears at least, the SMS and XTS boosts I already own function similarly.

As an example of yet another boost I own that lacks the exciter element, I'd posit my Fulltone FatBoost. Also a fine pedal (Jack Orman would certainly agree, as unhappy as he was about the pilfering ), but lacking to my ears what you love about the BBE and your new pedal.

As always, this stuff is idiosyncratic. What works for the individual in his or her specific applications is always "the best."

As for getting water into your electronics, that I can't help you with.

I saw down with the Gigagain Boost thru my rig and i nailed that Jerry 95 So Many Roads clean tone. Having the LEDs tell me if im in the green or im clipping the signal is awesome. Now when i play with my volume control on the guitar, i know where im at 100%. No guessing.

This pedal is worth every penny. I am shocked to say its def replacing my BBE Boost thats been on my board for 25 years. It sounds better than the BBE, almost like the blankets been taken off the front of my speaker type of tone improvement. The pedal is VERY well built. I will take a pic of my new pedalboard setup in the AM. This setup is what im sticking to from now on. I dont go thru pedals a lot anymore, i usually find what i like and stick to it. But this is the most updating of my board ive done in a few years. And I dont see any reason to mess with it anymore
