I found this album years ago in my dad's old records. The album is original as far as I can tell, definitely not purchased before 1977. Absolutely great stuff. The album gives gives no information except:

"Craig Rubble / Ron Colby - "The Eustice Hocke Memorial Album - The Final Live Performance'" in stereo on Dire Wolf. Legendary and super-rare private pressing recorded Jan. 1, 1971 at the New Riverside Cafe"

"...in memorium of Eustice Hocke who was killed in a freak accident as he was pouring a glass of milk"

..but it's "Dire Wolf Records"...The guys tattoo of the wolf reminded me of it, the same logo is on the album


Anybody have anything on this album?

...always wondered...is the narrative above 100% correct? or is there some "ghost playing" going on here...either way a great album if you can ever find a copy.

Hi it's been awhile since you wrote but I do know it was recorded at the New Riverside Cafe in MPLS. My Godfather and dear friends started the cafe in the late 60's/early 70's and the proceeds of the album were supposed to used to relocate the cafe after a fire. I have emailed my GF and a friend to see what the heck happened to Eustace with that glass of milk.
That Dire Wolf was an anarchist logo for the NRC and the West Bank. I believe that Eric Monrad drew it..could have been Zack Z too. I had a t-shirt in color of in when I was 5.
