I visited an optometrist yesterday to order new glasses. She was, I’ll guess, in her late twenties. This was our conversation:

“What kind of frames are you looking for?”

“How about glasses like Jerry Garcia’s?”

“Who is that?”

“The guitarist for the Grateful Dead.”

“Sorry, never heard of them.”
