Notice how Bobby was seriously angry with that? lol I always saw him as sort of an a-hole.

Also there was show, from sometime in the early 80s I think, where Phil was harping on someone for hanging of the balcony.

Here's a memory that just resurfaced from my subconcious:

At the Highgate '95 show, my buddy and I got right up in front of Jerry's mic for the 1st set. At some point in the set, a group of us down there started a pretty lame "We want Phil" chant. Jerry, surprisingly, responded to us by looking down and saying (off mic), "If you want Phil to sing you're gonna have to get a lot louder than that."

At this point, a large wookie-type head next to me yelled back, "THE FAT MAN SPEAKS!"

Without missing a beat, Jerry yelled back, "I only speak when I have something nice to say," and then launched into I tune I can't remember, maybe it was the Loose Lucy towards the end of the set.

The exchange drew a bunch of local laughs and cheers, but I don't thing many people heard it.

I was at the Irvine show in 1986 when Bobby got the lyrics RIGHT all the way through truckin' for the first time in two or three years. On the tapes the crowd roars when he finally makes it through...if you're listening now you might wonder why the crowd goes nuts in the middle of an otherwise nondescript show.

Most of the shows I went to, the weird and unusual were the norm; it was the normal that was in short supply.
