i have a fairly cheap acoustic guitar that i want to put a sticker on the back of. My question is will this effect the sound of the guitar at all. It a heavier sticker i would say.

not unless it bores a whole in the guitar....and even then, probably not.

A few, even several stickers will make no noticeable difference in the sound. You'd probably have to completely cover the guitar in multiple layers of stickers to really affect it. On my "beater" acoustic I have a round fish-eye mirror (like on a side-view mirror) stuck on the front. WHen someone asks what's that? I say "look closely... it's you!"...WHOAAAA, DUDE... :D

I've used a sticker or two in the past to cover up brand logos.

For example I've got a Road Ready case and have a GD Stealie sticker that covers up their brand logo.
