I have the tape of that aborigine jam. It's pretty cool. The crowd goes a little nuts when he ends the riff with that "well what do you think about that?" line.

I wonder if that was the only 'aboriginal sunshine daydream' jam?

Do you guys have any idea what the show was with the aboriginal daydream? That sounds far out.

After the first set closer of Death don't, Jerry tells the audience to chill out, hang out 'cos the band was gonna take a break and they'll be back to play more in a bit. What's funny to me is he says something about them going backstage to 'drink a coke'. Everytime I hear it I'm just like yeah right Jer, drink a coke?! Not smoke a joint? I dunno, I guess it's not that funny, but I always chuckle when I hear it.
I read in a compilation of old Rolling Stone articles it was commonplace to pass around a coke with LSD in it. So maybe that's the answer?

Or

maybe they're just goofing around?

2.Grateful Dead Live at Star Theatre on 1970-03-08
The Yellow Dog Story. http://www.archive.org/details/gd70-03- ... sbeok.shnf
bobby tells a hilarious rambling anicdote about a "short fat ugly little yeller dog" and "big black slick mean dog" in a bar fight. I'm not gunna spil the ending but trust me it's worth it hahaha.

3.Grateful Dead Live at Nassau Coliseum on 1979-10-31
http://www.archive.org/details/gd79-10- ... beok.flacf
this show is full of hilrious moments, they do two take a step backs, and during the tuning, bobby tells jokes. good stuff.

i just heard this show today for the first time, and i heard that part with jerry talk about drinking the coke, and he also says, "you're free to rest now", and damn, after that first set, i think the audience might have actually needed a rest, this show is a mindblower.

I just heard a hilarious one in the second set of 10/30/71 Cincinnatti show. People are yelling for Truckin' and Jerry says do you have to be a cop? What about the people who don't like Truckin'? What about them? Then a few songs later they do Truckin'

There is another funny one in this 10/30/71 show. While tuning before Mexicali Blues, Bob says, "If you are ever dodging bullets in Mexico, you'll know that you want to be in tune for the occasion."

This probably isn't new but I know that I have a least 3 shows that they always do the joke:

"My dog has no nose"

"No Nose, Well how does he smell"

"Bloomen Awful"

Heh It always makes me laugh when I hear it.

i have one where audience is pushing to the front and bobby says hes gonna release a bushal of spiders if they dont move back

also one where bobbys guitar is messed up and phil says they have to get the electronic wiesels out of bobs guitar

My personal favorite is on the workingman's dead CD on the alternate track for new speedway
the track starts
Phil: "oh yeah, its you guys and mickey and me"
Bobby: "Im not going to jail"

then they go right into boogie
