Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone of you here had your sound disappear directly after changing a battery? I have a Strat with a Wald buffer, OBEL. Everything has been working great, then nothing. All connections look good. Not sure what to do next.

Thanks!

Check the OBEL toggle. I flip mine a lot and had one go bad causing the signal to cut in and out.

To find where the problem starts, i.e. where you are losing signal, use a temporary jumper wire. If you get signal bypassing the OBEL then you at least know the problem is with the OBEL. If you still don't have signal bypassing it, then you'd want to rule out the other parts.

Thanks all.
Waldo thinks I prob put the battery in backwards, and fried the chip in the buffer. Hoping that's all it is.

If the battery connector is the type that you push onto the 9v battery, those connections are pretty flimsy and break easily.
I broke a wire off by just removing the old battery once. Same symptom.
Radio shack sells those leads and is a relatively easy/quick resolder.
