After years of owning, and not using, a modern production Phase 100, I ran into an original '75 yesterday. I played with it for a few minutes and immediately decided that it was for me.
I went back through the archives on this sight to determine the official word on Jerry's settings. The best I found was a couple of demo videos showing the "Intensity" setting all the way to the left.
Just playing around with it, I sort of feel that the 2nd notch from the left is a bit more appropriate for the sound I most associate with Garcia.
Does anyone have a definitive view on this one? Thanks in advance.

Now I've heard that Jerry did all sorts of things on his phaser. He used mainly the two middle notches on the left knobs. And on the right knob he set it anywhere he so pleased. But I never saw him change the phaser by hand. So I did a little research and I think he modded the phase 100 so he could control the speed of the phaser with his volume pedal. But he really set it wherever he felt like at that moment on the stage.
