well in defense of the price, I've also got a phiga that i paid about 2200 for. Its had about 2k plus in repairs to get it be a decent guitar. I bet if you take a closer look at the one you have, its going to have a shit load of corners cut, and weird little problems. Also looks like this guy shipped it out to IO custom guitars and had a luthier refurbish it into something useful. So price is probably closer to what is invested in this guitar. For background mine needed:

fretboard level, refret, new tuners, had to replace all the pickups as they were all fake, all the switches / pots / jacks were all chinese shit and had to replace those also, had to swap the buffer out for wald as the knock off that came with was very poorly made glumpy solder, new bridge, new nut, had to shield everything as it was unshielded, also had to route out the control cavity, and add a battery compartment? Whenever I asked Phil about any issues he'd basically say, yeah so what if the tuners don't work and everything is fucked, buffer is wrapped in a paper towel inside the guitar etc, mail it back to me at your own expense, and maybe Ill install parts you order for me. Ridiculous. My phiga is awesome now, but you better believe that truss plate is flipped over, he gets no endorsement from me. I could have bought a couple other guitars at that price point, and I work hard for my money. 4-6k is what a guitar hand made like that should cost for somebody to actually make something that stays in fucking tune and works reliably.

I got my Phiga Bolt used two years ago for $1,300. I have since upgraded all electronics, bridge, tuners, and had a fret job done. The guitar sounds great!

The bottom line is that things sell for market price. If market price is 6K for my Phiga I am a happy guy.

My Phiga had some issues, was not perfect, had real Super II's from Phil on request and came with the Waldo buffer and OBEL. It did have some intonation issues and the buffer was wired incorrectly. But I paid $2200 bucks....

If I was in the market for a $6k guitar today I wouldn't purchase a Phiga. If I was looking to spend $6k I would call Scott Walker or Thomas Lieber. JMHO

Turns out it is a pretty sweet axe. Purchased it on eBay. Thanks. Plays very well and looks cool as hell.
Managed a fair price at auction. Cheers, DT
