Died today. Great writer and person. Anyone want to share about this guys great body of work?

I find a lot of inspiration from his books and essays, and also a lot of humor.

Vonnegut was one of my faves, and Jerry loved his work and (if I'm correct) even bought the rights to Sirens of Titan and wanted to make it into a movie. Also, the Dead used Ice Nine from Cat's Cradle as their publishing company name. I was more of a Cat's Cradle/Slaughterhouse 5/Breakfast of Champions fan but I thought the man was excellent and one of a kind. He will be missed. (Man, I can't believe I didn't pick him in the death pool! )

I've read Cat's Cradle, i thought it was pretty good, the ending was really different. He had alot of fans, he'll surely be missed

as I was driving through the great state of wyoming this morning I was listening to NPR talk about him. He said he wanted the following phrase as his epitaph:

"The only proof I needed for the existance of God was Music"

Which I found Interesting because of what he was famous for, and because of how Spiritual deadshows were for me.

Vonnegut and the Dead were the two prominent spheres of influence in my junior high aged youth. There was a gentleness and strength in both their counter-cultural stances. Who today is going to replace these voices!?
