My wife doesn't see the humor in this:

Probably because this is due to arrive on Monday:

It's a partscaster loosely based on Keith Richards' "Micawber." I was able to find a used TL-52 SPL body which, as it turns out, are not all that common. I've always been partial to rosewood fretboards so I ordered a new CIJ '62 reissue neck as opposed to going with the more traditional maple variety. For the hardware I ordered Hipshot tuners, Armadillo "Keef" 6 saddle brass bridge, Callaham switch plate, neck plate and recessed jack cup, Dunlop recessed strap locks, Onamac Micawber pickups and a Fender tweed case. Including the case the parts came to just under $1,300. It was assembled at Dutton Instrument Repair in Catonsville, MD (highly recommended). In addition to the set up the nut was replaced with bone and screw inserts were placed in the neck. Eventually I'll get around to removing the low E string and tuning it to open G but for now I'll keep it as is. It's not Dead related at all but it was a cool project nonetheless.

Very nice! Always appreciated him and his guitar! Keef was quoted saying something like: 5 strings, 3 notes, 1 asshole.

Always amused by him and his quotes!

The wife said, after I bought another guitar, "How many guitars do you NEED?"

I replied, "How many pairs of shoes do you NEED?"

She lets me buy as many guitars as I want now... 8)
