I need to add the OBEL to a new build. I'm using low gain pups and don't really need the unity gain buffer and all the extras.
I've looked around, seen partial schematics, and full schematics with notes for passive. I haven't seen a full passive schematic.
I would be most appreciative if someone could point me in the right direction.

The On Board Effects Loop (OBEL) is passive. The buffer is what requires the 9v battery. Just take the buffer and battery out of the circuit and leave the original volume pot.

I would highly recommend putting the buffer in as long as you will have it all open. It is amazing how consistent the tone is and how the effects respond.
