What is your favorite album of all the releases the Grateful Dead released(not counting dicks picks or vault releases)?

its hard to pick just one but either skull and roses or europe 72, or workingman's dead, i dont think ill ever have one fav but do you?

Definitly bears picks, which has some amazing acoustic songs like the monkey and the engineer and a great dark hollow, it was also the first album to use the dancing bears logo.

Skull and Roses. Favorite studio album From the Mars Hotel. Not every track is great but the good ones were more what they are like live than the usual suspects like Workingmans or AB.

I am staying away from any live album including europe 72 and reckoning.....blues for allah...gosh i just love the frankins and the eyes...i think there just such cool studio versions. Mars hotel....the unbroken chain baby

Have to agree with you 100%. Beauty's complexities come together perfectly. Imagine trying to sync up all the instrumental voices... Not to mention Hunter's brilliant work (especially the second side's songs flowing into one another) and an excellent Pigpen number... Filmore West 69 is like Live/Dead's brilliance stretched out to three times the length.

Blues for Allah and Europe '72 are (very) close seconds, but there can be only one number one. Luckily, we don't have to choose only one to play!
