I cant get over the pretty boy look (metrosexual I guess is the term) that has seemingly become quintessential, especially for media types and NY/LA these days. I wont get into what I guess the origin of this phenomena is as it may come across as disrespectful. But it is alot more N'Sync than Little Richard. I thought Mayer was dressed up as a parody at first, but upon reflection likely not. Weir in contrast looks more Rainbow gathering than ever lol!

I'll take the hipster look any day over the whole camo redneck thing that is huge where I am! Everyone out here drives a pickup, hunts, is closed minded, and has no culture! My new band has been out now maybe 10 or so gigs, and all we get is people asking for metal or cheesy pop country. They all curse Obama and watch Fox News.

So, yeah. Please give me pretty boy hipsters. At least they try to be intelligent!

Also, I was happy to see Mayer really enjoying himself, and gushing to Bob about how much he loved the Dead. Never liked his music, but I think he may have been recently turned on to the Dead, and as we all know, that can change everything!

This forum and its tangled myriad of conflicting opinions are hilarious. I thought the purpose of a subculture was those of similar interests congregate in hopes of furthering their existence. This forum is like an Ouroboros, except it's disappearing up its own asshole.(no pun intended) I'm not saying the sky is falling, merely that John Mayer's presence indicates The End of Days. :hail:

We've been down the John Mayer road before, and the conclusion was that you're free to like whatever musicians you choose as long as theyre publicly professing to love GD music, and use rukind-approved gear. This also applies to their respective style choices, be they lumberjack, redneck, hippie, cop, sailor, cowboy, biker, construction worker, indian chief, metro- or plain old queer-o-sexual(spoken in thick Texas accent). Bear in mind that the opinions expressed by Mr.Burns are not shared by rukind or anyone else, for that matter, and may be toxic. In the interest of saving space I won't post side by side images directly contrasting Television John Mayer with Performing Artist John Mayer, even though they do seem to be two VERY different people. Is Mayer metro? Who cares, he might be schizophrenic. Now that's entertainment.
