The Phil 50th recreation shows with Stu Allen at Terrapin Crossroads have been amazing. They did 1965/66 in early January. 1967 in mid January and 1968 two nights ago. Below is a video from that show, which was 2/14/68 recreated. They are doing an amazing job for these gigs. They start with an interview with Phil conducted by Jay Blakesberg. The band does a great job imitating the tone and style of play as well. The guitarists all used hollow bodies for 65/66 and Stu used a 1964 Guild Starfire III. He played most the 1967 show on an ebony Les Paul '57 re-issue (a partial video of that is also on my channel) and was on his trusty SG for the rest of that night and for the entire recent 1968 show. His SG has been Jerrified, but it is an aesthetic match and his style is a throwback, too. I imagine the tickets will continue to be hard to get as they move through time. Next weekend is 1969/1970!
