I know this got hashed out on page 1, but just wanted to chime in on the semantics a bit. The issue of "gain factor" can be viewed as a ratio comparing the output voltage of an amplifier stage to the input voltage. If the ratio of the output level to the input level is 1:1, that's 1/1 = 1, and the word "unity" means "one". Unity gain means 1:1 ratio or 0dB gain, input and output voltages are the same. Just geeking on the language here.

Thanks Brad. I debated the SGBB but I think going the onboard route makes more sense for me - plus makes it a lot easier to squirrel away a bit of dough for the earth drive. I was thinking both at one point... Probably be hitting you up in the not too distant future.

Wow. Stewmack is fast. Ordered a couple stereo jacks (you know, JUST IN CASE I need them in the future... ) and a couple battery clips on Friday and got them yesterday. With the holiday approaching, I can only hope Mike has enough in stock or time to fabricate and I will get the TCP-1 in time to work on it before my 12/27 gig...

Yeah- shipping is the love/hate with Stewmac. I usually get orders in two days- but shipping is always $10-ish even for a small box. I always try to put off orders to lump them up- but it never works- I think I've had three orders in the last 6 weeks. I'm in the middle of a dulcimer build project and there's always that one tool that would come in real handy....

Yeah, I once needed a few abalone dots to finish a neck....with shipping they were about $4.00 each!
