5/9/77 is awesome! Best comes a time, imo. Also, i forgot DP 11. Gorgeous dark star, Cumberland and the closing UJB jam are frantic, almost manic. And come on, they opened the show with morning dew!

And don't skip One & Two from the Vault. One has an Awesome Help>Slip>Frank. Two has Dark > St. > Eleven.

Just listened to some great stuff on the archive. 4-29-77 is how I best remember them....lotsa energy in New York/Bew Jersey!

25 is a special one...they were on some special drugs for sure.

Also I would recommend looking for the stuff they cut out of the '74 Alexandra Palace show, which is probably on the archive or etree. They really dropped the ball by not releasing it.

Just received DP 1 (Tampa 1973)....nice show with a great Here Comes Sunshine...but not, IMHO, spectacular.
Waiting for DP 11 (Stanley Theatre, Jersey City!!) and DP15 (Englishtown). And waiting to find an affordable DP 8 Harpur College.

Meanwhile, just plunked down a load of dough for 13 disc set of May 1977.

Gonna be lotsa listening and downloading to iTunes in the next week!

How could I forget Dick's #12; shame on me. My experience is I find parts of shows or specific jams to be outstanding, rather than whole shows in general. Oddly, Ill go back and like different songs etc. a later dates and find some jams less impressive. I'm also a big Jerry Band fan. Howard Wales jams cd and the Pure Jerry 74 and 77 are good imo.
