Anyone can download this, and I'll show you how!

1.) Go to keepvid.com
2.) Copy the URL of the youtube video you want
3.) Paste it in the keepvid input box
4.) Run the java applet that allows it to download
5.) Select the format you want to download it in (NOTE: some are audio only, some are video only, webm format WILL be the future, and VLC can play it)

For anyone that can't get the above to work, click this http://keepvid.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fw ... TiTDvAWYvY and download the MP4 that says MAX 480, which is the maximum resolution of the video.

I've got my copy, so if it goes down, know that I have it.

Hmmm.

I'm assuming you're using a windows PC (because you're using windows media player).

The steps I would go through would be to verify the file type (the letters and numbers after the "." in the file name), my downloaded file looks like this:
"Grateful Dead 4-21-72 Beat Club Bremen West Germany.mp4"

If yours ends in mp4, it's beyond me; as Windows Media Player supports mp4 by default. If you grabbed the webm file, you can use VLC to play it. Google VLC (video lan) for a free download. It's far and away the best media player for audio and video.

What's the file size of the file you downloaded? Right click on the file and click "Properties". The size of mine is 343 MB (360,003,394 bytes). If yours differs, there could have been an issue downloading it.

Yes, there's that one, however, the one that was taken down was the actual web stream. It had great audio & video quality.

There's nothing wrong with making a living and intellectual prop'ty rights etc. in fact it is a good thing that facilitates the distribution and creation of the material, but I did have great admiration and respect for the Dead's longstanding tradition of openly sharing live material. I suspect Garcia was the primary force behind the phenomena, especially as years went by (and perhaps his last wife primary in the changes). Thankfully it will take more than a lifetime to transition all the great stuff; and its better to have it available at a cost than unreachable but free. I suppose they would let personally recorded material continue to be shared even if the vault versions have been released officially (like the AUD recordings on archive.org

I had another post inquiring about the box on Jerry's amp in this performance that apparently sat between his guitar and amp. It looks similar to an old Dallas treble booster. Anyone know for sure what it is? Bobby has some queer box with a jack on the top of the unit too.
