Place for the rest of the music

We did a little early acoustic set before our last gig, and I taught some of the band members a couple of my originals. Here's a sample (sorry about the claustrophobic camera angle, tight stage).

Love it. I always find myself watching your left hand in vids...obviously your right does some great work...but I think that relaxed strumming/picking hand is the secret to a lot of your sound. Love the "lilt" of your playing. Real nice arrangement to. Your band mates add just the right touches...harmonies really dress it up. Let us know when the CD comes out.

Thanks, guys ... I wrote that song about a drummer I met in Texas ... he was fat, kind of oily and sort of toad-like ... but he had this terrific personality, total confidence, and was a natural with the ladies. He was juggling a few very good looking married women at the time ... he was the last guy you would be worried about your hot wife cheating with, I'll tell you that. I never talked about it with him but I got the impression he got a charge out of sleeping with the wives of better looking guys.

I wrote it for the Dead band I was playing with in Texas (he was not in the band), and this is a home demo of it with GD instrumentation (I'm playing everything on it). I like it better as a funkier acoustic tune, though.

As far as a CD ... yes, I am talking now with a couple of producers about making a record ... so, stayed tuned.

The words ... LOL

Face for Radio

I got a face for radio, you got a body made for sin
Open up your window, let me creep on in
Don't you tell your daddy, you let me inside
I ain't good looking baby, but I know just how to ride
One look in my eyes, you can see it's true
I got a face for radio
I got a face for radio

There's a shotgun in your kitchen, a camera on your roof
But there's no reason, baby, to be so damned aloof
While your husband he's out working, I got a job to do
Gonna rev up your motor, show you a thing or two
I know you got your reasons, let me tell you mine
It's cause I got a face for radio
I got a face for radio

Don't you worry about your neighbors, I'll slip in your basement door
One thing I can tell you, you'll have me coming back for more

It don't matter if you're ugly, you don't need a brand new car
You can walk around with a limp, you can have a big ol' scar
Your looks don't count for nothing, you don't have to try that hard
Even a blind hog finds a truffle in someone else's yard
I've been with a thousand women, I satisfy them too
It's cause I got a face for radio
I got a face for radio

Funny you mention that. That's where my eyes were drawn (well before reading this post). Agree with you 100%
