Sorry, if in the wrong place but I purchased an MC 50 and it is missing the rotary plastic gain knob. Anybody know where I can get one or as a replacement, what diameter I should be looking for a knob that will fit over the gain "spindle?"

Thanks

If it's a slip shaft, like the ones on my Mc 2100, then yes the knob fits over the split shaft. Just like a stock Stratocaster volume or tone knob fits over the split shafts. The knob just has to be made for a split shaft that size. Looks like the same size shaft as a Strat shaft to me.

I agree, any idea of what size that would be to find a knob that would fit? (i.e. do they come in 1/8" or something?

Anything 6mm or a 1/4″ made to push onto a split shaft should work. You can open or close the split shaft slightly. It needs to be 5/16" deep also.

Anything like this would work fine: https://www.cbgitty.com/cubecart/2-pack ... Ogod00YA0A

Option: change the gain pot to solid shaft and use knobs for 1/4" with set screw.

FWIW, my MC40 is also missing a gain knob.It is really a non issue for me as I always leave the amp almost (98%) turned all the way up.
I make my volume adjustments on the guitar and my volume on my SMS always lives around 10:00. It works for me. Having the Mc cranked like that promotes the sweet speaker distortion more readily it seems.

For my MC50, I got a replacement from Audio Classics. They didn't have any originals so they gave me one they said would work. It was $15. I wish I had seen this replacement instead! Still am not exactly sure how to get the replacement on there.
