Apologies if covered before.

Does it bother anyone to discuss gear topics which are slightly off the Jerry tone quest but related?

Reason I ask is I'm not in a Dead tribute band but have great affinity for improvisation and Dead music.

I am having a guitar Jerryfied by AO, have a similar pedal board and use ideas here for that, even recently built a JBL 1 X 12 cab.

I use Fender tube amps primarily and over the last couple years have moved toward the brighter EQ as opposed to my old dark MArtinoish EQ, but do not intend to recreate the amp rig of Garcia.

OK with the group to be in the mix but not in the mix?

I don't see why there should be any such limitations. I use a Jerry-ish rig and play lots of different stuff with it from country, other rock tunes, to musical theater. I think all music can be in the realm - it's about approach not who wrote the tunes . . . to me.

Sure- I just wouldn't post it in the "Jerry Tone" forum if it's not about Jerry tone.

I cannot imagine rejecting your participation under these conditions. To me, you may have an arm and a leg out the window but you're still on the bus.

I would say, however, if you are applying a Jerry tone to a different style of music it could fall under this category

Oh, right. Absolutely. I was going to say that. Just apply the Section 307.2(b)(7) criteria and you'll be all set.
