Good topic! Difficult to pinpoint one song or even one time period. I've been really digging Ramble on Rose from Winterland '73 show. But I'm a big fan of Eyes while driving. Also Ruben and Cherise really feels good on a nice sunny day with the windows down and wind on my face....

The answer changes from week to week with me. I'd say US Blues right now from 7/4/89.

Bumper sticker, seen sometime around 1989-90:

"Caution: Driver may be experiencing a hot Shakedown"

another one:
"I swerve for Drums & Space"

The first day we arrived in San Diego after moving from Texas, we drove to the beach. Estimated was playing. As we crested the hill in La Jolla, the Pacific Ocean appeared draped in sunset right as Bobby was screaming out, "California...." Wow!

Lately I've had 7/4/90 in my truck and I like the Playin>Terrapin>Dew best. Plus the US Blues encore is glorious.

Jack Straw 10-17-78

The jam from "on the run..to.. Jack Straw" makes me feel like a cowboy riding his horse through a huge field 8)

or

a '70-'74 China> Rider

Thats a tough one to answer. It has alot to do with the moment (where I am, my mood, traffic patterns etc) Ok here's a few: Here Comes Sunshine (circa'73), Eyes of the World, Terrapin...with jam in to drums, HEY HEYHEY HEY POCKY WAY!!!! 'cause it makes no difference who or where you are....

either really jazzy jam stuff (playin', eyes, some versions of TOO,) or the end-of-first-set songs, like GSET.
