Anyone tried putting an analog clean boost in front of their fractal unit to drive it into break-up better when you roll up the volume on your guitar? I did today at rehearsal and liked the results, and so did the band. I have found that a simple filter block in front of the amp in the software does not quite do the same thing - but perhaps that's just my perception. In fact being a purist I've found my vintage Boss delay is really hard to replicate as well, within the Ultra so I've transitioned into running a bit of a hybrid, with a small pedal board and some amazing patches on the fractal for more creative sounds. part of this strategy stems from not having a decent controller - based on my depleted budget for gear.
If anyone wanted to share their Twin clean settings to get a great Garcia tone (like an SMS tone or Shakedown amp tone) I'd be interested in seeing how you've got it dialled in.
