Any out there using a Pedaltrain (or comparable) Pedalboard and Travel case? Care to offer a review? Thinking of investing and starting to research, thanks.

I currently have the Gator GPT PRO pedalboard, which is the larger one. It is made of plywood and with my pedals on it, it is fairly heavy. I just started looking into the Pedaltrain pedal boards which are made of aluminum but was surprised to discover that the weight of the large Pedaltrain board that is comparable in size to my Gator is only 2 pounds lighter. For me, I am now looking into consolidating and re-arranging my pedals to fit on a smaller board to get the weight down. I also note that the large board is a bit unwieldy to handle.

It looks at the outset like the Pedaltrain boards are designed better than the Gator ones with more useable cabling slots though I read in the reviews that the brackets for the power supply mount come with screws that do not fit the pre-drilled holes and folks have to make modificationsm, either drilling, different screws or both.

The plus about the large board that I will miss is that the pedals are spread out more and not stacked right against each other. I find it easy to get to the various switches when they are not all scrunched up.

I really like the looks of that GCX.

I use the Pedaltrain 2 with a Voodoo pedal power 2.

It's very neat and clean looking. You can wire it up underneath.
Solid and well built.
I like the fact that it's tilted with the back sitting higher.
The Pedal Power 2 mounts neatly underneath it.
The soft case has a pocket to hold all my guitar cables and power cords.
The soft case does has done a good job of protecting it while in transit, it's compact, and it stores easy at gigs.
If I think of all the dough I've spent on pedals though, I wouldn't mind a hard case.

I've gone the Pedaltrain2 route also. Very functional and well built. The soft case works well because it's heavy duty.

I noticed the wall wart you have plugged into the back of you Pedaltrain. Is that for the TruTron? The outlet on my PedalPower 2 Plus is recessed about an inch into the board so it will only take slim plugs. Did you use some kind of extension piece to get the wall wart to plug in?

I have a PedalTrain for my stuff. For the most part, I like it. It has a soft case with it that is functional but not very protective. The velcro has stopped working real well with a couple of pedals lately and they will fall out of place. I'm happy with it for the price.

Yes, it is for the Tru-Tron. I use one of these. It fits perfect. Standard around the house item.

I bought the PedalTrain 2 with a hard case. I had somewhat of a hard time with putting it all together for various reasons including not planning the upper layout in tandem with the lower layout and running into issues with how I ran a surge protector and power supplies. (the M13 precludes the use of a voodoo lab fwiw). I'll try to post some pics at some point for reference if anyone is interested.

The main take away for me that I think is worth sharing is don't just map out the top (I used Visio), but map out the bottom too. Be prepared for curves such as having to find a different power supply due to the shape of an existing powersupply not fitting and stuff like that. Its helpful to have lots of extra velcro and zip ties too.
