I am looking to purchase something that will allow me to loop my guitar playing, and need some suggestions as to what I should buy. I've seen a boss RC 2 loop pedal on eBay for a decent price, anyone have any experience with that? Would like to spend around $200. Also, just for fun, anyone know what loop setup keller williams uses? I've always wondered. Thanks

Keller used to use a Boomerang. My son has one, and they're really cool if you don't want to save your loops for more than a number.
I bought a Boss RC-30. Nice piece of gear. Saves a tone of loops.

I use the ditto. Pretty good for a simple and cheaper pedal

Awesome guys. Thanks for the replies. I'll check them out. This is pretty unrelated, but do either of you have any idea if storing power cords and aux cords in the back of my amp is harmful to the amp? One of them got stuck to one of the heads (like magnet stuck) and I got the feeling that it was kind of like pulling a magnet across a computer screen.

I got the Digitech Jamman but I haven't used it enough yet to give an honest opinion. It was between that and the Boss.

Guys have been packing cables into amps for over a half century now- and keep doing it. The main problem I have is stuff getting stuck to the speaker magnet. I would think the bigger risk is putting a hole in the cone paper if you're not careful.

I have made a tentative decision to go with the ditto. I dig the simplicity. In a universe of complicated buttons and flashing lights scrambled onto guitar pedals, the ditto is a breath of fresh air

I'm not familiar with the standalone loopers but I will say this - try to get as much looping time as possible. I use a Line 6 M13 and the looper goes 26 seconds normally, or 52 seconds at half speed. I use looping mainly for allowing me to record a rhythm track to solo over in my acoustic gigs. For some GD material (i.e. Loser or Peggy O), if you play at a slower tempo you'll eat up 52 seconds pretty quickly. If you have less than that time, I can only imagine using it for very short sequences (i.e. Jack Straw).

Big thanks for pointing that out to me - I think I am going to have to invest!

First, the five minutes of looping time is insanely more than I could ever need but well over the 52 second limit of my line 6. Second, when I use the loop on the line 6 it ties up half the pedal board which means limiting my effects for soloing. Third, it means I can control the level of my loop and overdub separately which has been somewhat challenging with the line 6 by itself.

EDIT: A negative is that it doesn't come with its own power supply.

There is a decent chance I would have bought that one instead, it's too bad I didn't check the posts before I ordered it. Not that big of a deal though, it's only a hundred bucks.
