In April RD is headlining the Mcdowell Mtn. Music Festival in Scottsdale AZ. The Nevell Brothers and others will also be there. Never been ,but looks to be a good time. Anyone from this board thinking of going? If so would like to hook up. Here is a link to the event if interested

I've seen two bad ratdog shows, 2 good ones, and 1 great. but my favorite was a different breed all together. It wasn't good or bad, it was weird. Some songs worked out and others didn't. They were playing West L.A. fade away and the whole time it was like they were trying their hardest not to play it, but Darkstar, Cassidy and St. Steven were great. It was an awsome time, it was like they created this big sloppy wet bubble of groove in the middle of the room, but they failed to take it anywhere. It didn't matter though becuase you still had a fat wet sloppy groove to play with. Somebody once said that Ratdog exist based on the will of Bob weir, if Bobby doesn't feel it the whole band falls apart.
After the show (which was my brothers fitrst Ratdog show) my brother was quoted as saying "it's like going to see the greatful dead's retarded uncle."
that always stuck with me, but I lo9ve Bobby, I love to watch him rock, and it's fun to watch him flounder

I'm honest. I love the Grateful Dead but really didn't like Ratdog. I'd rather go see Phils awesome band.

I've been to 6 ratdog shows, 2 phil and friends with two different line ups, and 2 shows from "the dead" in 04. Best show was phil and friends 99 with kimock and trey. Next best was all the ratdog shows which were between 2004 to present. After that was the phil show last year, and last was the awful three guitar player experiement that was "the dead" in 04. Warren, Herring, and Bob together was an awful idea. Is one solo guitar player not enough. It seemed to me that phil or whoever must have thought bob wasn't good enough by himself on rhythm. I mean he was only in the grateful dead for 30 years, but what do I know. The best shows are still three grateful dead shows I saw at RFK 94 and 95. I got on the ship late, and I know that those are considered the sucky years but they were better than any of the post dead shows I've been to.
