They can be had cheaper…but the wait is long and painful. I'm surprised a certain other accomplished PDX Jerry guitar player hasn't added this to his substantial collection

I had a mutron3 once, but it was problematic and I sold it. I'm pretty happy with my current QTron, but the tru-tron 3x is very interesting... I'm reticent to invest big bucks in more vintage gear... I got lucky with my Mac (knock on wood), but my twin has been a money sink - tho I think it's finally working bug-free now! Pesky reverb issue..

hey Justin. I've got the Tru-Tron on order so you can check it out when it gets here. I'd like to compare it against a real Mu-III so maybe we can get together with one of the other Portland players (Tom, Pete, Terry...) and do an A/B comparison.

Vintage there are a couple of licsenced versions...Univox Funky Filter is one, and there are others. Most folks realize what they are and thus they sell for as much as the real thing often. The new Biegal pedal seems to be a long overdue solution though. It aint cheap, but neither were real Mutrons when they were retail, and I am guessing the customer service is a real relationship with the inventor/builder.

I have bought one of the tru-trons - should be getting it soon. It sounds like it should be a great envelope filter. Without being able to compare it yet, among the bunches that I have had and tried, the regular Qtron is my favorite. Not the + or the mini though... Just my opinion of course.

Hey Adam! =) that sounds like a great idea. There's a bunch of us Jerry players here in Portland - it would be interesting to all get together with our gear for a night, have a BBQ or something, talk shop, and have fun! Maybe invite a bunch of people, bass, drums, etc... Make a night of it.

There's Mu III listed on craigslist here in Denver for under 200... but I think it's not the first gen.
