Just saw them Saturday in Portland and had to talk it up. I've never seen them, so I didn't really know what to expect. I love the fact that they have a sax up there kicking it--adds a completely different dimension to the music. And on top of that, they played the entire WRS, one of my all-time favs. I don't know if they usually play that, but it was a treat for me. anyhow, no real point to this post other than I had a great time. If they're in town, check em out.

I couldn't agree more. Ratdog is where it's at!!

I saw them three times last tour, and I've already got tickets for when they come around here in early March. Everyone needs to go see them if you haven't already.

He played lots of Jerry songs and covers, but only OMSN, Saint of Circumstance, and Lost Sailor for Bobby songs.

I woulda killed to be able to go to Vancouver the next night... the setlist looked fucking sick.

For me bobby shows are either hit or miss...I've seen some amazing shows and I've seen a few less than stellar ones. I'm more of a phil and friends, I think the overall quality of musicianship is better, but I still love bobby.
Regardless I think Ratdog is worth a look,
I plan on seeing him when he comes to Rochester

FYI: Tuesday Blues, She Says, and A-11 are also all Bobby originals (new songs performed with Ratdog)

I like some of his new shit, it works and I find it inspiring that after all these years he's still cranking out some good product. I hope to catch them when they come to Boston & Concord. ALWAYS a good, energetic show.

When I say Bobby songs, I mean Bobby with the Dead songs. That's not to say I don't appreciate him making new stuff, but I would much rather have him do more of his material than Jerry's. Just my $.02

Cool, I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up. Don't even know who Buck Owens is, actually. But yeah, looking at your show, I see what you mean. A nice Bucket or something would've added some nice flava'!

I may not have made it clear enough from my previous post that even though it wasn't a strong Bobby set, it was still an awesome concert!

Great energy and some good jamming going on. I love to see Bobby live, and his band is in top shape. Vocally , they were all right on with harmonies, and Jay was just killing it on drums, Mark Karan is one of my new favorite guitarists. Last time I saw him he didn't really show his chops but now, wooohooo.

The Moore Theatre is an awesome venue, and the boys were just eating it up that night.

They had an awesome pedal steel player sit in for the acoustic songs and some of the second set, and they jammed with a bagpipe player during space and wharf rat(kind of a weird little jam, but it was fun).

Bottom line, GO TO RATDOG!
