Following on from the thread of favourite acoustic tracks to play, can anyone advise me on Dead CD’s with acoustic sets?

I have Reckoning and DP 8 5/2/70

Thanks

You can go to Archive.org and download some acoustic sets but I'm pretty sure as far as official CD's go Reckoning and that Dick's Pick's are the only acuostic sets. Oh wait History Of The Grateful Dead (Bear's Choice) is also mostly acoustic set (the last two songs are electric). Hope this helped.

I think they did a tour 1970 (the same one as DP's 8) and they had 3 sets, with the acoustic set out first.

If your'e gonna download anything, be sure to download 5-15-70, Fillmore East.

i ordered a bunch of dead shirts/tapestries from www.soul-flower.com and they sent me a burned copy of an acoustic set at the Warfield 10/11/80. it's got a pretty sweet Dark Hollow and Heaven Help The Fool.

I know this isn't strictly Dead, but Jerry's "Almost Acoustic" disk is a must have.

I would also suggest 12/6/80 and 9/24/94 "Phil and Friends" set.

The question I have about the 1980 acoustic sets is where are the good sounding aud's - I mean no disrespect to those who recorded the sets, but I have yet to dl a good sounding aud from that run - is it just me? where there technical difficulties in recording the acoustic sets? Is "Reckoning" so good that anything else doesn't hold a candle?

Thanks for the info. I have been on Archive.org and what a find. The acoustic set 5/15/70 looks good and also found Rainbow Theatre London 03/24/81 which was my first Dead concert.

In fact had heard nothing by them until then and as we had not been to a concert for a while a mate of mine suggested we see the Dead. I was hooked straight away.

Thanks again
