The rules are simple - all video submissions must contain a song either written by or recorded by the Dead. How that song is interpreted, however, is entirely up to you! Here's mine, "Mission In The Rain" from our gig with Cast Of Clowns last summer. Ironically, the other 3 videos of JGB songs we have up on YT are not written or recorded by the Grateful Dead, so I had to go digging... we needed to upload some new stuff anyway!

We tagged a couple but from reading the post on their Facebook page, sounds like they are looking not so much for tribute bands as individuals or musicians doing some sort of unique interpretation of a Dead tune.

I may bust out the acoustic and try something a little different.

It's kind of vague, but that does seem implied, or at least the freedom to do so.

I have a bit of a beef about multiple submissions: it seems like some guys are tagging everything their band has ever done, which is a bit lame imho. Submit ONE video, so everyone gets a shot at being seen/heard, I say. But whatever... it's just internet shenanigans anyway.

we submitted one and were mulling a 2nd - dont have a ton of stuff to choose from which along with wildly different opinions... - well, you know ;) - posted a couple of my own as well - for the hell of it.

I didn't get that they just wanted individuals with a take on the songs. I do see tons of cover bands tagging their stuff for it though. I don't know what's fair or not. I got inspired.
