What vocal mics did the boys use from the 80s and beyond?

I've seen photos from 1980 where they're using MD421s. From then on It's been hard for me to identify what's being used.

I think they also used Beyers for a while in there.

These days I highly recommend the Telefunken M80s. Further is using them as well as a lot of others. I have several for my location recording business and they have cleaned up the sound of everything considerably. Not only do the vocals require less processing to sound good than typical vocal mics, the leakage is also very good, making the whole recording much less muddy and washy.

The price of the Telefunken M80 is actually not too bad compared to some of their stock. Guitar Center has them at $249.

Peace,
