That one will double in price by the time it closes. Real nice amp and great speakers.

I love looking at the bid histories on auctions like that. So who would bid $0.01, $11, or $15.51 on an amp like that. "A closer look reveals the human race..."

Question for some of the gurus that hang out here. I am interested in this amp, but read the following and it concerns me about the authenticity of this piece:

Fender's sudden transition from cloth wire to thick PVC wire (in pastel greens, white & yellows) is well documented by anyone who has ever pulled a chassis. Sometime in late 1968, the cloth covered wire went away.

The photos in the auction clearly show colored pvc wire. Any thoughts?

Look again broseph, that's clearly cloth.

Your're right almost $1800 in the end. That is a sweet amp though, and will only be worth more in the future. Good find Hogan. It also had some pro history which is cool for its mojo factor.

you could put 10K as a bid, and the only thing that will show up to the public is the lowest bid on the table, which could be $15 or $150. It wouldn't be in anyone's interest for everyone to put the highest you would pay the first day, well except for the seller. it is funny to see an amp bid low for that one.

Actually it is in the buyers best interest not to bid at all until 10 seconds before the end of the auction, THEN put in the highest bid you are willing to pay. Bidding early only drives the price up. Not smart at all.
