A good friend of mine was their soundman for a good while---I have yet to see them....bootlegs I have (imho) are meh.

For the past 10 years, my fav guitar player is Jerry Garcia.

Obviously haha mine too, but id have to say for guitarists that are alive... hmm Trey, Scofield, or ole uncle warren hayes... just an opinion thing tho

Unless it is Dead related or JGB band I rarely listen to anything past 1990 for music. My two that I would say for the past 10 years would be Derek Trucks and good ole Keith Richards. I mention Keith because for some reason even after all these years he still stays fresh in my eyes, playing ability onlly, not appearance

There are so many that I can think of but for some reason like word association, the very first one that popped in my mind is:

Sonny Landreth

I dont know why he popped in there first but I'll just go with it.

you gotta expand man... theres still good music out there, just a little tricky to find. but then again you really dont haha theres enought GD, dead, bob, JGB, Furthur ect. to start at the beginning of the very first time they recorded themselves to the last show that anyone of them recorded recently that you could never hear it all unless you have say maybe 15-20 years to do ABSOLUTLEY nothing besides listen, not even sleep. it would be interesting to have an exact amount of the length of time theyve been recorded. theres literally years worth of recordings

I can listen to anyone from any time frame, but there's only one guy with whom I've been consistently playing and developing a dialogue over that time period, so mine would be the guy I've had the pleasure of making music with the last 7-8 years, John Leary. Second fave would be my buddy Pete, with whom I've re-established a musical relationship after many, many a year. Third and fourth would be Mike and Dan from Fennario for much the same reasons.

But I suppose that's not really what the OP was after, so I'd have to say Kadlecik.
