Fixing a Ding

Urgh!!
I just put a huge ding in my (new to me) SG. Coffee table corner vs. guitar waist. It took out a chip which is really to big to live with, HELP!!!

Damn! Can you upload a pic? If you took out a "chip", where is it at and how big?

No, if it didn't affect the finish on the guitar, try the damp-rag and soldering iron technique ...

if a chip came out did you save it? Is it a natural finish or a solid color? Natural finishes are harder to repair. If you saved the chip it might be replaceable. A good repair guy can probably get it close to looking new again.

Sorry could hardly look at it let alone photograph it, the guitar is a '61SG re issue, vintage finish. Anyway I found a great repair guy and the fix is in. thanks all.
