Just saw this last night and all I can say is......wow.

When I think back to 1980, the image that comes to my mind so clearly is standing outside the University of New Haven gymnasium going into to see the JGB. I don't recall why I didn't go, or make more of an effort to go to NYC and see the Wall at the Garden. But I do know this; when it was announced that Waters was touring it this year, there was no question in my mind....I was going. Let's face it. At his age, it is quite likely that he will continue to perform.......but as for the Wall......the entire production of it all.....this is it.

It was spectacular. If the tour is coming near you and you don't already have plans to go, beg, borrow, or steal your way in. I noticed Denver coming up.....this means you Gregg!

One of my roommates went last night and said it was great. I really wish I would have made it happen, but just missed the boat on getting tickets.

You live in Atlanta or drive from somewhere else?

I live in Orlando area, but the company I work for in based in Atlanta, so I am there with some frequency.

Saw the Pittsburgh show and, of course, it was unfreakingbelievable. It's always been one of my favorites and I learned all the tunes when the album came out---so, I was really looking forward to this show. We had tix 3 rows from the absolute back of the floor. At 8pm sharp, a "bum" comes walking through the aisles on the floor pushing a shopping cart with bags and a sign that said "need money for booze and hookers"...I watched him walk past all the rows and was looking at him as he came nearer. He saw a blazing RW tie-dye I wore from the 99 tour and he stopped to comment and we started talking about the show and his liking the town/people, etc. He obviously was not a homeless guy but part of the show. We talked for maybe 2 minutes and he left and kept circulating along the floor. 2 minutes later, some security guy with a headset/collared shirt comes up to me and says how many in your party? He proceeds to lay 2 second row tix on me and my buddy which were a bit left of center (comp tix--prolly unused from the band), basically right on front of RW for much of the show. A couple minutes later 2 other sets of folks came up and sat next to us---turns out, we all talked to "The Bum" and apparently, he hooked us all up. I'd like to think he hooked up the people that treated him nicely and perhaps that he thought RW wouldn't mind seeing in front of him for the whole show. I've heard similar srories from other venues and it seems this upgrading practice is happening at all his shows. Very cool I thought.

BTW---when the Wall came down, it almost smacked me. It was great being up that close but also, wouldn't mind seeing that show from way back too. Just a lot to take in all at once.
It's more of a "show" than a concert.

I bet they weren't unsed comp tix, but "reserved" comp tix for just that purpose.
