Bookmatched Ebony top and back. Maple core with Paduk laminates. Volume, tone and FX loop blend knobs. Push/pull Op amp buffer on Volume (pre loop). Push/pull FET preamp on Tone (after loop), and FX loop bypass on blend knob.
Total weight- 7 lbs 13 oz

Check the location of the bridge and (way cool) tailpiece- it's almost at the bottom-most part of the guitar. Almost set up like a bass .. ..

Ebony? Cool... love the contrasts with the other woods.

With six bolts, that neck's not going anywhere either...

I talked to Scott about this guitar over email. He mentioned he had a chance to hold and study Kimocks Ebony Cripe guitar. This one has that tasty Flame Maple core.

yeah - they look like a holdover from his Santa Cruz guitar days. I like the look of em but they're a bitch to change strings on. My Del'Arte acoustic has them and they are not much fun. Sweet guitar.

At the very least it's you and me. I'm thinking it has more to do with the headstock...not sure what. The body is beautiful but the scale of the neck and headstock give it a clunky look to me. Still would love to own it.

Looks wide to me, too. Almost like 6-string bass width, and not narrow spacing like Phil's moduluses. Not bad, necessarily, but a slimmer neck might be nicer.

Love the ebony, love the shape, love the simplicity of the style, not sure about the headstock.
