Savage Macht 6 Amp - Dripping w/ Tone!

I stopped by G Guitars in New Haven today. They had a Weir 2681 plus a guitar w/ an Alembic/Modulus Blackknife neck. I played both guitars through a Savage Macht 6 1x12 amp with a BV-30V British Vintage Series speaker. The amp is a 6 watt Class A amp that has incredible tone. It's small & lightweight and very basic (one volume, one tone and two tremolo settings). It just sounds soooooo good. What's really nice is that you get that tone at a reasonable volume - no need to crank it like a Twin to get to the sweet spot. I'm not saying this is a good Weir or Garcia amp. I'm just saying it's a great amp.

Not cheap...

and btw....playing the 2681 on the bridge pickup through this amp reminded me of primal Jerry...

Nice! I am shocked by my absolute love of low wattage amps these days! How was the Alembic Modulus?

It sounded great, but I was playing more gritty blues, etc, not looking for a Weir sound.

Cool! BTW, I find that sometimes "good guitar tone" that motivates me to play harder is better than "good Weir tone" that makes me feel less inspired.
