I heard or read somewhere that Phil played an upright (w/frets painted on) on the Workingman's/Beauty records - is this true? What tunes did he use is on?

The only upright playing from Phil on record I know of is on Mountains of the Moon from Aoxomoxoa. I have no idea if frets were painted on or not.

iirc the "painted on frets on a fretless deal" was in relation to an electric fretless
