Hi guys, I've been posting the past couple days--finally figured how to sign in from work sshhh---and figured i'd stop in here. I've only been seriously trying to learn guitar for about three years---kind of an early mid life crisis--i always had a guitar kicking around, but only ever knew power chords. finally decided to start learning to play some of the basics--nirvana, ac/dc, metallica type stuff and open chord songs on my acoustic. Once i got the hang of that i went out and bought a little 15w marshall and an sg with p90's not thinking i'd ever be able to play any dead. Well thanks to RUKind, darks and the nate lapointe vids I have begun my search for the sound. I was late to the GD party having my first show at highgate in '94, but i was at most every east coast show the rest of the way. Anyway, i just wanted to stop in and say HI and thanks for sharing all this great info

we were actually looking at some places in your neck of the woods a few months ago, but settled in hull--much easier commute....i'm originally from portland.
any of the local cover bands play around? i saw a good venue for shows right in hull but it doesn't look like any dead covers play there.

Welcome from Waltham! We dabble in the south shore from time to time since a couple of us live down that way.

Hey there fellow south shore-ite!
Yeah - the south shore is a tough market for dead bands. we do play around there sometimes but it's mostly little bars - no good music clubs around. Hull tends to have blues bands and caters mostly to summer crowds and generic music crowds.

Oh you got the bug now, you may want to sit your wife down and explain that you may loose all control in the near future and buy old speakers and dirty pedals instead of paying the car note

. Welcome to the car lot that never drives off. -JB
