What is up with my amp???

Just had my twin put into a head and it looks great! Only problem went to fire it up and no sound! Looked in the back and the all tubes were out cold.

It worked beautifully a week ago and no nothing! Please tell me it is not a power transformer.

Any thoughts?

I should mention that I tried all new preamp tubes but no luck!

man, bummer. it could be a few things. The same thing happened to my reverb when I went fiddling around with my amp. It was the transformer. Did you do any poking around in the amp itself? You may have to take it to the doctor.

Start here and escalate panic accordingly:
Did the pilot lamp light?
Check the fuse.

Did you put the chassis in a head cab? If not, talk to the guy who did, and explain to him that you're not accusing him of anything, but did anything strange happen while he was putting it in the cab.

Report back.

Basically, you have to pull the head and start at the beginning. Fuse, power switch, is there power to the primary of the PT, then is there power coming out of the secondary of the PT, then is there voltage at the rectifier, etc. You simply start at the AC cord and work your way forward until you find where the power stops. Standard power-loss troubleshooting.

Thanks Guys!

I had someone very reputable do it. I should have mentioned that I had a 3 prong power cord installed. I talked to the guy and he thinks it could be a cold solder joint coming off the cable. The jewel does light up!
