Before - octaves are very finicky and get a bit sloppy sounding if they don't have a pure direct signal going into them. That's my opinion anyhow...

Right now I am using a vintage Boss t-wah. I have Mutron III but I want to have it gone over and get a power supply before I use it full time.
I have been using it in front and that seems to work well.

in that case before like myoung said put it before. Right now mine is before, but I have a qtron+ with its own built in effects loop. It is ideal for finiky pedals to get mixed with the envelope filter properly. I put a od pedal in the loop permanently, which i have to activate at my rack which sucks, and I'm considering putting the octave in there too. They both perform better in the pedals FX loop, that's why I asked. Once you get your Mutron going a bunch of guys here can get you on track with that monster.
One time I heard Waldo talk about switching them around B/C the pedal has a buffer. The buffer seems to mess with the envelope filters performance.
