Good find Friesman, I wonder if anyone around here has a Troy Post guitar. I thought I read someone was using him to do some work.... He has made a lot of guitars for being as young as he is, I can only guess he is experienced at this. I would go for it....I just may after reading all the posts about Garcia inspired guitars. Although, Keir's Eagle has me thinking along those lines now....

Very nice, I'd buy it if I wasn't broke.

top would looks like walnut. Everything looks nice except for the inlays. If your going to go all the way why not get some awesome inlays?

I like the simple inlays, his guitars look like a mixture of cripe and irwin styles and since 'lightning bolt' had similar dot inlays, I think it fits.

I think Troy is trying to bring an affordable version to the table of the custom guitar market. I am sure he can have the inlays done, but not at a 2.5K price point. It seems like he is trying to tackle the market between the high end customs and the store bought priced mass produced guitars. Hell, even the store bought ones are getting up there in price. In the end, you get what you pay for with everything new or hand made.

I have one of Troy's Skyline models, and soon he'll complete my (Bolivian) rosewood top and back version of this guitar (with some circuit changes). I live about four hours from Troy, and he DROVE here to deliver my guitar last year (on 4/20!). He's a very talented builder, and the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. Troy builds his guitars from raw boards, and he's very accommodating to individual players' design requirements. My Skyline plays like a dream; the fretjob is like glass, and I can draw all kinds of tones out of it, without really having to pay attention to where the switch and knobs are set. I'm not surprised that his prices are increasing; he's starting to ask what his guitars are worth! Buy now, before his prices go up again!
Here are a couple shots of my guitar in process.
