Don't look unless you have a strong stomach ... they got into SoundCheck this weekend, where every musician in Nashville stores their gear, from the big touring artists to session guys. It was underwater after the flash floods.

I was wondering about Gibson, specifically the custom shop. Any word?

Man what a waste, I know they are living in a surreal reality at the moment....I lived through Katrina, in my house for 2 weeks without power, 3 hour waits for gasoline if they didn't run out, No AC, little food, all the things we take for granted denied and unavailable. Primitive living is survivable, but loosing a bands entire gear is heartbreaking. You know a lot of those young bands, even big timers didn't think of "Flood" insurance for their gear. I am sure they will need that specifically to get reimbursed, just like they did everyone here. One of those guitars, the yellow quilted maple strat looks identical to mine, made me do a double take. God bless them.

Many millions lost in gear. With the benefit of hindsight maybe storing valuble music equipment in a riverfront warehouse wasn't such a good idea.
I don't think the custom shop got hit but Opry Mills mall where they sell the customs for big $$ was flooded to 6 feet. Won't reopen until the end of the year. Overall the city is good and not anything like the devastation from Katrina.

I did get an email from NAMM that the show next month is going on as planned.

I caught that too! Sickening irony. I wonder how the multiple RC Boosters were used? Various stages of dirt... ack another sad pun.

Cool!/That sucks! moment: Never even seen a Jaguar Bass before or knew they existed. Now I've seen a destroyed one...

That swollen Collings acoustic ... ugh. I think that particular goldtop was either Keith Urban's 58 or the owner of Soundcheck's 52. Put a price on that. Ouch.

I'm curious how different these acts are going to sound now.
